Workshops for teenagers

Images exhibited here are collected during an arts week at a secondary school in Devon. Teenagers were asked to think 3 dimensionally in order to create pieces that would be temporarily sited in the school grounds.

This collective piece marked a departure from the usual agenda in that it obliged the kids to engage with unconventional building / art materials in order to create reasonably large sculptural forms. The pieces then housed smaller forms made using different creative techniques, such as carving soft stone or coiling and sewing grasses to form 3D shapes.

There was also opportunities for the kids to take part in or design other works such as a series of (controlled) slip paintings.
